As the government lifted some travel restrictions this summer by establishing air bridges. But there are some popular destinations such as France and Spain on which it is advising against traveling to these countries.
However, travel restrictions are constantly changing and many countries are being exempted from the UK’s safe travel list.
Here is some information from airlines regarding the refund if a passenger cancels a flight.
British Airways is giving a voucher to customers who are canceling their flights in the value of their booking for refunded flights.
However, the BA website states: “If you do not wish to rebook, claim your voucher or claim Avios (if you an Executive Club Member), you can contact us on 0800 727 800 from the UK, or +44 (0)203 250 0145 from outside the UK, to discuss your refund options.”
“Please contact us on 877-767-7970 if you are calling from the USA or view worldwide contact center details here.”
EasyJet says that if a passenger cancels a flight they will be informed by the Booker using the details on the booking.
However, customers can book for another flight at any time. Or they can claim a voucher for the full value of the ticket.
If a customer does not want to book a flight yet. A voucher can be useful as it provides the flexibility to book flights for future travel. Whereas, they can book the flights to at least Summer 2021.

Ryanair is providing refunds to those who are asking for them. And has committed to a timeline for paying out requests – and is making “rapid progress” on its refund backlog.
However, the airline said that 90% of the customers who were booking directly with Ryanair and were requesting refunds between March and June were set to be paid by the end of July
Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays are giving vouchers for booking cancelations. If a customer wants a cash refund they will have to ask for it. And will have to wait for 120 days to receive it.
From 29 July 2020, it’s added that if you request a refund in August. You should have to wait a maximum of 80 days to get your refund, down to 60 days in September and 30 days in October.

The travel firm canceled all holiday packages that it was offering up till 10 July 2020. However, it has affected hundreds of thousands of travelers.
If you had a canceled holiday booked up until 10 July 2020, or a Marella Cruises holiday until 30 July 2020. The customer will automatically receive a refund credit voucher to the value of their booking plus 20% extra on top.
You can spend the voucher and rebook online or via a Tui store.
However, if you want a refund. You’ll have to put the details into Tui’s online refund form to ask for a refund to the value of your booking instead.
