Florida Coronavirus Travel Requirements

State of Florida requires people arriving on flights from the New York Tri-State Area – New York, New Jersey and Connecticut – to quarantine for 14 days or for the remainder of their stay if that time is shorter.

The terms of reference allow allowances for airline staff, military, health and emergency services.

List of Travel Requirements

Gov. Rick DeSantis released a new order requiring citizens from Louisiana to self-quarantine, too. Checkpoints for highways have also been set up.

  • Drivers entering Florida from the coronavirus hotspots of New York City and Louisiana are forced to self-quarantine or face jail time.
  • Interstate highway checkpoints have been setup on Sunday
  • Some drivers reported massive traffic jams and long hours of waiting.
  • Gov. has yet to issue a shelter-in-place order, also in Florida, as the US cases continue to rise.

Travellers from New York and Louisiana

People arriving from New York City or Louisiana will be subject to a fine of $500 or 60 days in jail if they violate the self-quarantine requirements.
